Obituary of Marie Pace
Pace, Barbara “Marie”(nee Pretty)-79, Ecum Secum and formerly New Harbour Newfoundland, passed away peacefully Monday May 17 in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish in the presence of her loving family. Born February 6, 1942 in Markland, Newfoundland she was a daughter of the late Cyril and Martha (Cranford) Pretty. Marie was full of life and a strong woman who overcame many health obstacles with her positive attitude and her strong will to live. Anyone who came to visit Marie left with a full belly and a new laugh line. She is survived by her loving husband Kenneth Pace, daughters Barbara (Jerome), Brenda (Daryl), Kim (Perry), sons Basil, Kevin (Florence), stepchildren Kevin (Doris), Cindy (Bruce), 7 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren and 3 step great grandchildren, sister Naedell (Dave), brothers Alvin, Kevin (Mae), Brendan (Kate), numerous nieces, nephews and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Marie was predeceased by grandchildren Gina & Matthew Smith, brother Andrew Pretty, sister Shelia Pretty Tibeed. Due to COVID-19 restrictions cremation has taken place and her family in Newfoundland will announce her memorial service will announce her memorial service in the near future.
