Peacefully, at the Pembroke Regional Hospital, surrounded by the love of her family, on Friday, March 19, 2021, in her 86th year. Of Pembroke,
Marie Colette was born to Alphée Laplante and Clara Lajoie of Riceville, New Brunswick. Beloved wife of the late Robert J. Baxter. Loved and cherished mother to Anne Marie Baxter, Ottawa, Michelle Baxter (Gerry Johnston), Pembroke, Robert M. Baxter, Kemptville, and Andrée Baxter, Ottawa.
Loving grandmother to Sarah (Steve Roorda) and Stephanie Corriveau, Emilie and Eric Parker, and Harmonie, Hope and Faith Baxter, and great-grandmother to Dylan Roorda. Marie Colette is survived by 11 brothers and sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews.
Respecting Covid-19 restrictions, a private Family Funeral Mass will be held at Église St-Jean-Baptiste on Monday, March 22, 2021, followed by cremation. Interment St. Columba’s Cemetery.
The family extends a special thank you to Dr. Davies and the caring staff of the Pembroke Regional Hospital, 3rd floor Medical, and the dedicated staff of Caressant Care Nursing Home, Cobden.
In memory of Marie Colette, donations to the Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation or Columbus House would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the Murphy Funeral Home, Pembroke.
