Maria Piro 2021

Maria Piro
May 20, 1933 – June 3, 2021
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother Maria Piro. Loving wife of the late Antonio Piro. Adored and cherished mother of Rosemarie and Carmine.
Maria is predeceased by her dear brothers the late Salvatore (Jean), the late Vittorio (Pauline), the late Vincenzo (the late Marie) and the late Decimo (Kerry). She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by her brothers John (the late Maria), Antonio (Jackie), Mario (Gloria) and Aldo (Debbie), by her sisters-in-law, her many nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends.
Maria immigrated to Canada in 1951 with her father Alessandro and brother John. Together they worked tirelessly to establish a home and bring the rest of the family to Canada. In July 1954 she married Antonio and devoted her life selflessly to her family which was her greatest joy. Maria’s warm hospitality and the exquisite meals she lovingly prepared for family and friends were legendary. She was an avid gardener and found joy creating beautiful gardens around her home. Her wisdom, kindness, and compassion will be missed by all who knew her. May she now rest peacefully in the arms of an angel.
Due to the current restrictions due to the pandemic, the family is having a private family funeral on Monday, June 7, 2021 at Holy Cross Catholic Funeral Home. Entombment to be held at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.
