Cora Parke
November 18, 1950 – October 13, 2021
It is with deep sadness that we must share that our beloved Cora Lacson Parke died on October 13, 2021. She was the beloved wife of Bob Parke, a beloved sister, auntie, and dear friend to many. Cora was an immigrant from the Philippines who was proud of her heritage. She was a proud Canadian who was always up to date on current events and politics.
Cora was trained as a registered nurse and later added the specialty of being an enterostomal therapist. Cora combined her skills with compassion to support and care for patients and their families. Nursing was not simply a job for Cora but a mission which she used to care for those in need.
Cora is a person of deep faith which gave her purpose and love for others. Through these past years her faith sustained her through the difficult times. We give thanks for the prayers that were offered on her behalf. Cora was ready to be at home with our Lord in heaven. I think heaven has gained another Angel.
We will always remember Cora’s generous nature the great pleasure she took in sharing her cooking and baking. Cora never sought more for herself but more to give to others in need.
As we remember Cora, please take time to find an act of kindness or generosity you can do to make someone else’s life a little easier and bring a smile to their face and hearts. In this way you will manifest love which is the heart of who Cora is.
We love you Cora forever you are in our hearts.
The family will receive friends at the Holy Cross Catholic Funeral Home 211 Langstaff Road East (west of Bayview Ave.) from 2:00 -4:00 pm & 6:00 -8:00 pm on Monday October 18, 2021. A Private Mass of Christian burial will take place within the funeral home in the Chapel of St. Joseph on Tuesday October 19, 2021. The final rite of committal and interment will take place at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery (8361 Yonge Street Thornhill). Online condolences & directions may be found at www.catholic-cemeteries.com
Due to Covid-19 capacity restrictions, friends may have to wait to pay their respects during the visitation period, we are inviting family and friends to a walk-through visitation only to pay their respects, offer condolences and then kindly exit the building to allow for others to enter.
Family and friends are invited to view the Funeral Mass on Tuesday October 19, 2021 at 1:30 pm.
