Obituary of Marguerite Kasko
Marguerite Kasko
November 24, 1929 ~ June 27, 2021
It is with great sadness that the family of Marguerite Kasko announce her passing on June 27, 2021 at the age of 91.
Marguerite was born in Eston, Saskatchewan to Clara and Francis Carter on November24, 1929. She went to school at Evans’ School until grade 8 then finished the rest of her schooling at the Convent in Rosetown. She then moved to Prince Albert to take nursing classes and went on to nurse at the Holy Family Hospital for a time. She married Frank Kasko in April of 1952 and was blessed with five boys and two girls in the following years.
The years on the farm were busy and fruitful and filled with raising the kids then 4-H and cattle shows, Agribition and school canteens. Marguerite was always cooking, pickling and baking for her family and her garden was always large enough to feed the brood of kids her and Frank were raising. She had an infectious chuckle and was quick to laugh even though times were sometimes tough.
She is survived by her children Donald (Allison) and grandchildren Hudson, Bailey(John), Brienne (Shaun), Dominik and Clarence; Douglas (Glenda) and grandson Gavin; John (Della) and grandchildren Ariel, Alyssa and Quintin; David and granddaughters Kirstie, Madison and Miranda; Karen (Steve) Enberg; Eric(Annette) and grandchildren Ethan and Emma as well as great granddaughters McKenna, Vivien, Mairead, Danika, Ava and Vayda. She is also survived by her siblings Arthur (Deanna) Carter, Gertrude (George) Harder, Wilfred (Elizabeth) Carter, Donald (Marilyn) Carter, and Brian (Margaret) Carter as well as many nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her parents Francis and Clara Carter and by her husband Frank, her daughter Barbara and her brothers William, Bernard, Trevor and Cecil.
The family would like to thank the staff of Nelson’s Care Home and the Spiritwood District Health Complex Senior’s Home for the kind and compassionate care Marguerite received from them during her time there.
A Graveside service will be held Friday July 9th, 2021 at 10 A.M. at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. Due to Covid restrictions only 150 people will be allowed attendance and all masks and requirements by law will be asked to be followed.
In lieu of other tributes, the family asks that donations ne made in Marguerite’s memory to the Rose Garden Hospice or a charity of your choice.
