Margaret Luke April 28 2021

Obituary
LUKE, Margaret
Margaret Luke died peacefully on April 28, 2021 at The Hospice at Glengarda. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her husband Mac, and sons Iain (wife Victoria, children Elizabeth & Catherine) and James (wife Anu, children Rhys and Nina).
Margaret, born February 2, 1940, grew up in Pembrokeshire, Wales. In her youth she loved playing sports, going to the pictures, singing and play-acting, and any type of socializing with friends and family.
In 1961, Margaret and Mac started as teachers together in Monmouth and were married on August 5, 1963. In August 1968, they moved with their first son Iain to Porcupine Plain, SK where they both taught school and where they expanded their family when James was born.
Margaret taught high school English and was very involved with both drama and music in the community. She made a positive impact in these roles and was proud of so many of her students, not only for their accomplishments, but as much for who they turned out to be. She will be remembered fondly as “Mrs. Luke” to generations of school children who came through PPCHS.
After retirement, Margaret and Mac enjoyed travelling internationally and spent many winters as snowbirds in Mesa AZ, and later in Hawaii. As she had always done, there she continued to enjoy being active in sports (swimming and tennis) and especially the choir.
In 2001, Mac and Margaret moved to Saskatoon where they have continued to reside as a part of the community in the Sierras of Erindale.
She will be missed by those whose lives she touched. She was a loving wife, a devoted mother, and a caring Nanna. She was a collaborative co-worker and inspiring teacher who helped prepare so many students for life. She was a fiercely loyal friend, always ready with a cup of tea and a friendly ear to listen.
If you are reading this, there is a strong chance you remember your times with Margaret as filled with fun and laughter. We think that is just the way she hoped to be remembered.
Never one to shy away from the spotlight, if Margaret positively touched you and your life then please, today, let some of your light shine on Margaret.
A life well lived – well done Mam, well done! Da boch chi.
