Shea, Lorraine Ann – Age 83, Truro. It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of our Mom, Lorraine Ann (Boucher) Shea on June 12, 2021 in Truro, NS.
Born in Halifax, she was the eldest daughter of the late Elsie (Turner) Boucher and Harold Boucher.
She is survived by her children, Cathi (Albert) Chiasson, Halifax, Gerry (Gail) Shea, Dartmouth, Robert (Heather) Shea, Hammonds Plains, Chrissy (Aubrey) Burke, Halifax, Heather (Dan) Durnford, Burlington, ON; grandchildren, Luke Chiasson, Katie Veinot, Josie Shea, Abby Shea, Jillian Therrien, Peter Shea, Catherine Shea, Mason Burke, Kohlby Burke, Adam Durnford, Eric Durnford; six great grandchildren; siblings, Edward Boucher, Ellershouse, Rose Evans, Lakeside, Dene Sipple, Halifax, Charles (Gail) Boucher, Calgary, AB; sisters-in-law, Mildred Boucher, and Nancy Tough, both of Halifax; companion, Ron Gammon, Lower Sackville and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Gerald Shea Sr.; son, Terry Shea; brother, Bill Boucher; mother-in-law, Catherine Shea; in-laws, Andrew Evans, Madeline Boucher, Joan Hall and Jacqueline Humphrey.
Mom was very musically inclined and while raising all six of us, she entertained us all. Along with her guitar, she performed with a few local dance bands in the 60’s, 70’s and early 80’s. In her later years, she frequented most of the local karaoke nights where she sang a song or two. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was always up for going for a spin in the car with whomever was going somewhere.
The Shea family would like to thank the staff of the Mira Long Term Care Facility and the Colchester East Hants Health Centre for all of their TLC.
As per her request, there will be no visitation or service. Donations in her memory may be made to your local food bank or charity of choice. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro, NS.
