Lloyd Anderson 2021

Lloyd’s Obituary
On Saturday, May 29, 2021, Lloyd David Anderson went to be with his Lord and Savior surrounded by his three children at St. Paul’s Hospital, Saskatoon, SK, at the age of 89 years. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend.
Lloyd was the second child of Clarence and Edna (Larson) Anderson, born on September 22, 1931. He attended North Willowgrove School, Norquay High School, and Covenant Bible Institute. Lloyd served his church and his community in many capacities. He spent his life happily farming with his brother, Delwyn, on the family farm in Norquay, SK. This partnership was unique for its harmony.
Lloyd and his loving wife, Doris, enjoyed a beautiful life together. They created a wonderful and loving home for their family, Pat, Janice, and Mark, as well as a welcoming place for all who visited. Doris and his family were the focus of all he did. His work ethic, wisdom, and kindness, that was seen by all, was experienced at a deeper level by his precious family. His legacy is multigenerational.
Lloyd had many interests and pursued them with great joy (much to the detriment of the animal kingdom). He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and trapper. He loved his time spent at the hunting cabin, on the lake fishing, and especially on the trapline with his buddy, Duncan. Mark’s favorite memories are following along in his dad’s footsteps, wherever their adventures took them.
How do you sum up the life of such an amazing man like Lloyd?
Maybe like this – it has been said to us that he exemplified the life of Jesus to those around him. He was a humble man of great faith who was always present to those he was with. Never one to seek recognition or the limelight, he was most happy working, loving, and serving people. One of his most endearing characteristics was his incredible sense of humor. He could tell a story, make a comment, or just use a look that brought laughter and joy to everyone present.
Lloyd was predeceased by his parents, Clarence and Edna; brothers, Les and Delwyn; sister-in-law, Audrey; and brother-in-law, Ed.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Doris; sister, Fern; daughter, Pat (Delwyn) and her family: Matthew (Chris), Nathan (Emily), Ezra, Lucy, Murphy, Davie, and Christopher; daughter, Janice (Greg) and her family: Michael, Courtney (Rob), Charlotte, Sebastian, and Connor; son, Mark (Juanita) and his family: Erin (Michael), Lloyd, Joshua (Brooke), and Elliot; and sisters-in-law, Cathy and Barb; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
A Private Visitation will be held from the Chapel of Leson’s Funeral Home, Canora, SK. A Private Graveside Service will follow on Saturday, June 5, 2021, from the Norquay Covenant Church Cemetery, Norquay, SK, with Pastor Arden Gustavson officiating. A Public Memorial Service will be held in the fall 2021. Those wishing to make expressions of sympathy may make donations to the Covenant Heights Bible Camp – Norquay Covenant Church, as tokens of remembrance, in memory of Lloyd Anderson.
