Linda Gale Compton (nee Lemoine)
It is with great sadness that the family of Linda Gale Compton announce her peaceful passing at the Kemptville District Hospital on Monday May 17, 2021 after a long battle with MSA-P. Linda was born on Jan 30 1947 in Ottawa and is predeceased by her parents, Nora Elsie Brown (Greasley) and Arnold Lemoine. She was the beloved wife of Bruce Compton. Loving mother of Donna, Steven Leclair (Sandra) and the late Kenneth Leclair. Adoring Step-mother of Jeff Compton (Corrine) and Michael Compton (Lisa). Cherished grandma of Alex (Connor), Mitchell and Mallory Leclair and Ben, Harper, Dylan and Eliot Compton. Survived by her sisters, Sharon Drouin and Holly Lemoine (Rocky) and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her brother Tim Lemoine(Nancy)
After Linda’s early retirement she enjoyed spending her time gardening, checking out garage sales and seeing family. She loved travelling with Bruce in their motor home attending Bluegrass Festivals, Flea Markets, Antique Car Shows and seeing new places. She loved being a snowbird during their many winters in Florida and being surrounded by new and old friends. Linda endured this tremendously difficult battle without complaint, with grace, dignity, perseverance and always a smile. A special thank you to the wonderful and caring caregivers who supported her and Bruce over the past year. A Celebration of Linda’s life will be announced at a later date once the Covid restrictions are lifted.
Private burial will be held at Spring Hill cemetery 7820 Springhill Rd, Metcalfe, ON K0A 2P0
She is Gone
You can shed tears that she is gone
Or you can smile because she has lived.
You can close your eyes and pray that she will come back
Or you can open your eyes and see all that she has left.
Your heart can be empty because you can’t see her
Or you can be full of the love that you shared.
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday
Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.
You can remember her and only that she is gone
Or you can cherish her memory and let it live on.
You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back,
Or you can do what she would want:
Smile, open your eyes, love and go on.
