Friends are invited to join the family for a Celebration of Life Service which will be held on Saturday, August 14th at 11:00am in the Forbisher Cemetery, Frobisher, SK.
Linda Emma Hannah (Nagel), formerly of Yorkton and Frobisher, beloved wife of the late Ernie Hannah, passed away at the Esterhazy Centennial Care Home on Friday, June 18, 2021 at the age of 95. Linda was predeceased by her husband Ernie (1999), her son-in-law Tom Cousins (2001) and fourteen siblings: three in infancy, Fred (Mary), Adeline (Art), Elsa (Ben), Emelia (Morton), Louis (Shirley), Deana (John), Rosa (Bob), Hermina (John), Martha (Stu), (Bill), Ernest and Martin.
She is lovingly remembered by her three children: Jim (Sue) Hannah – Australia, Colleen Cousins (Tom-deceased), Melvin (Janice). Linda had seven grandchildren: Luke (Ilona), Drue (Erica) and Scott (Shannon) Hannah, Jared and Brett (Jaylene) Cousins, Jordan (Chantelle) and Jillian (Michael) Hannah. She was also blessed with nine great grandchildren and two on the way: Matilda and Riley Hannah, Max Hannah, baby in June (Scott & Shannon’s), Thomas and Flora Cousins, Connor and Claire Hannah and Elle and Nash Bondarenko and baby in October.
Linda is also survived by her sister Lydia Rodgers from Alaska, her sisters-in-law Olive Hannah, Vera Nagel and Ramona Nagel and many nieces and nephews.
Linda was born on the family farm north of Killdeer, SK to Ernest and Lydia Nagel. She was the thirteenth of sixteen children and grew up in a large loving family. After high school in Assiniboia she went to Normal School in Moose Jaw. Her first teaching position was in a country school outside Frobisher and it was there she met her husband Ernie and they were married for fifty-two years. Linda taught in the Estevan School Division at Frobisher and Bienfait for almost thirty years. Teaching was Linda’s passion and she was always delighted when her students learned to read. Linda was a hands on mother and was always involved in her children’s activities. She took a very active part in community events and shared her artistic abilities and love of singing. The Hannah and Nagel extended families were a special part of her life. Linda faced many health challenges – especially Lymphedema, but she never let it hold her back and rarely complained despite the limitations she faced. Eventually Linda and Ernie moved to Yorkton to be closer to family when Ernie’s health was failing. Linda made many close friendships at their condo. She spent the last four years at the Esterhazy Centennial Care Home which provided Linda with loving care and many joyful moments for which her family was extremely grateful. Linda enjoyed many visits from family and was fortunate to even have visits from her son Jim and family from Australia several times at the condo and Care Home. Then Covid came and it kept her family away but she was able to use facetime to connect. Linda loved her family and friends more than words can say and she was loved in return.
