Leila Streicher 2021

Leila Streicher
(July 2, 1931 – August 26, 2021)
Leila’s world revolved around her family and the loving connections she fostered in both her personal life and career. She will be forever cherished and affectionately remembered by her grateful children, Susan Lobell Polsky (Jerry), Lewis and Blair Lobell; her treasured grandchildren, Liam and Zoe; her brothers, Sydney (the late Evelyn) and Carrie Katz, Noah (Barbara); nieces, nephews and her supportive and compassionate friend, Brenda Bindman Gordon. Leila was predeceased by her devoted companion, Jean Pierre Fresey.
Mentored by her creative and industrious mother, Mary, Leila was co-owner of B. Baker & Son, a longstanding home furnishings family business in Snowdon. By virtue of her discerning taste, warmth and engaging personality, the business attracted many of Montreal’s finest interior decorators.
Some of Leila’s happiest times were spent with family and friends in the country house in Ste. Agathe and in later years, Leila enjoyed a decade of extensive travel. Time spent in Calgary over a scrabble board with her grandchildren brought everlasting joy to all.
A great beauty, Leila loved to laugh, cook and entertain but it was her compassionate heart that touched the lives of countless people and which will always be remembered.
Gratiude and appreciation to Sophie Florencio, Lydio Ortiz and Zeny Hernandez for their ongoing kindness and care. A graveside funeral will be held. Donations in Leila’s memory may be made to the charity of your choice.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Leila Streicher 2021..
