Passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family on October 24, 2021 at St. Joseph’s Lifecare at the age of 98. She joins her devoted, loving husband Otis of 67 years (predeceased 2014). Cherished mother of Marlene and the Late Marilyn Bell (2004). “The Best” Grandma of Jason Bell (Anne), Kari Rimmer (Dave), Vicki Fletcher, and Jessica Testani (Marco). Great Grandmother of Meredith, Abbey, Emily, Keegan, Landon, Nolan and Mason. Predeceased by 2 brothers. LaVerna was a lifelong member of the Canadian Foresters. Family and friends will be received at the Toll Funeral Home, 55 Charing Cross Street, Brantford on Friday, October 29, 2021 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. Registration is required to attend. You may register on the funeral home website by visiting Laverna’s memorial page and clicking the RSVP button located under “Service Details”. Masks are mandatory and social distancing protocols will be in place. Due to capacity restrictions a private family service will be held. The service will be livestreamed beginning at 10am on Saturday, October 30, 2021. Please visit LaVerna’s memorial page and click on the “Photos and Videos” tab to view the service. Interment will follow the service at Farringdon Burial Grounds. If you would like to attend please plan to meet the family at approximately 11:00am at the cemetery.
