Lane-Sera Barb November 11 1955

BARB LANE-SERA passed away unexpectedly at the University Hospital in Edmonton on Thursday, August 19, 2021, at 4:20 PM, with her best friend and husband Rick, younger sister Carol and her husband Neil by her side at the age of 65 years.

Barb is survived by her loving husband Rick, daughters Denise (Mike), Catherine (Reece) and Danielle; cherished Grandson Declan; sisters Beverly & Nancy, Sharon (Ron) and Carol and Neil and brother Wilfred (Marilyn) and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by Rick’s parents, Ann and Zoltan Sera, sister-in-law Wendy (Brad) and their families.

She was predeceased by her mother and father, Anne and Ernest Lane, and son David Brousseau. 

Barb was born in Brooks, Alberta, on November 11, 1955, and grew up in Bow City.  She graduated from Brooks Composite High School. She moved to Lethbridge in the mid 80’s, where she worked for the Lethbridge Exhibition.

Barb and her two children, Denise and David Brousseau, married Rick in 1992. Barb and Rick, and their family, eventually moved to Coalhurst, where they currently reside. Barb worked for Kolk Farms for a number of years until her retirement.

Barb was an avid curler, took a great interest in researching her family history, loved the rodeo, and spending time camping with her family. 

Barb requested there will be no funeral. A Memorial Service will be held for Barb at Cornerstone Funeral Home (2825 32nd Street South, Lethbridge, AB) on Saturday, September 18, 2021, at 11:00 AM, with Patrick Siedlecki officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Children’s Hospital in Calgary (childrenshospital.ab.ca) or Rehoboth Christian Ministries (www.rcmflourish.ca/donate/)
