Kathleen Jean Kay MacLean 2021

We, the family of Kathleen Jean MacLean, regret to announce her passing on Friday, September 17, 2021, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, at the age of 74.
Born August 15, 1947, in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Grace (Wambolt) Saunders.
Kay was employed many years as a bookkeeper with Dominion, Best for Less, CO-OP, and CO-OP Atlantic stores. She will be sadly missed by her sister, Georgina and the arguments they would have over the most mundane of things such as which day and what store they got groceries. Kay loved family and hosted many from up the line along with Georgie. She also loved her old black and white movies and those damn Xmas movies that seem to multiply each year like rabbits.
Special thanks would like to be made to the nurses and staff of Unit 4C of the Regional for their care and kindness in the last weeks of Kay’s life and also to Dr. Lisa MacInnis.
Kay is survived by her son, Kevin Robert “Bob” MacLean; sister, Georgina Moore; and brothers, Frank (Mabel), Edward “Pro” and Jim, also nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, September at 11 a. m. with Mr. Gary Grant officiating. Interment will take place in Hardwood Hill Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Cancer Research or the Hospice Palliative Care Society of Cape Breton County.
