Katherine’s Obituary
Mom…
Your life was a blessing
Your memory a treasure…
You are loved beyond words
And missed beyond measure…
-unknown-
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Katherine (Lyver) Knight, of Grand Falls-Windsor, NL on June 7, 2021, at the age of 86 years.
Katherine, or Kit, as she was more fondly known, was predeceased by her parents, Bernard and Bridget Lyver; beloved husband, Frank of 63 years; cherished sons, Gary and Billy; brothers, John and Walter; and brother-in-law, Dave Toms.
Left to mourn with fabulous memories are her son, Dave (Gail Keats); daughters, Jane (Ron Abbott), Elizabeth (Graham Budgell), Carolyn (Warren Tilley); grandchildren, Kelly (Steve Adams), Victoria (Tylor Archambault), Matthew (Olivia Noseworthy), and Vincent Tilley; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Colin, Paisley, Paxton, Haley, Sophia, and Jackson; brothers, Greg (Nellie) Lyver; sisters, Josephine (Ed) Hennifent, Jane Toms, and Bride (Don) Boone; along with many nieces and nephews, and a very large circle of family and friends.
Katherine was born and raised in Fortune Harbour, NL, where she attended and graduated school. She then received training as a teacher and taught school as well as working at various jobs over the years.
In 1958, Katherine married the love of her life, Frank. For the early part of their married lives, Katherine and Frank lived and worked in Toronto, ON, where they started their family. A few years later the new family returned to and lived in Fortune Harbour, NL. In later years, a move to Grand Falls-Windsor, NL was made so as to be close to their children.
While being a gentle, kind, caring and forgiving soul, Kit’s personality was huge. Whenever she was in a room her presence was felt she had no problem letting you know her thoughts on any issue. The love and pride that she had for her family knew no bounds, and her faith was evident at all times.
The family of Katherine would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of the Carmelite House for the wonderful care given to our mother, Your love and caring support during this difficult time is very much appreciated.
Cremation has taken place.
Due to current COVID-19 restrictions there will be a celebration of Katherine’s life at a later date.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to Darrin Andrews of Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, 10 Bayley Street, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL, whose understanding and professionalism is second to none.
