Joseph’s Obituary
Passed away peacefully at the Health Science Centre, St. John’s, NL, on Sunday, September 19, 2021, Cyril Joseph “Joe” Hanlon, formerly of O’Donnells, St. Mary’s Bay, aged 76 years. Predeceased by parents Cyril & Mary Hanlon, brothers Ron and Gus and sister Margaret. Leaving to mourn wife Thelma Hanlon, son Ronald and many relatives and his many wonderful friends and neighbors from O’Donnells and Admirals Beach who took the time to keep in touch with Thelma in Ontario and who helped Joe in many ways. Someone was always there to check in on him or bring him food. He was never in need of someone to bring him to St. John’s for doctor appointments or to go grocery shopping. When he went to the hospital and then to Winslowe Ridge Retirement Centre he was so happy that he still had many visits from them. He was especially thankful for the excellent care he received from the workers at Winslowe Ridge.
Cremation has taken place. A graveside service, in keeping with current COVID-19 regulations, will be held on Monday, October 11, 2021, at 11am, at Sacred Heart Cemetery, O’Donnells. To express condolences online please visit our website at www.gibbonsfuneral.ca
