At age 68, Lance Johnston passed away unexpectedly on July 13, 2021.
Born in Calgary, AB, to the late Ruby & George Johnston; Lance was the sixth child of nine. He married the love of his life, Debra, and together they raised three children in the Calgary area before moving to the Okanagan in BC for the past 27 years. A loving husband and caring father, he adored all 7 of his grandchildren and was always there for his extended family.
He will be missed for his romantic, loving side to his one true love Debi.
Lance was an automotive enthusiast who enjoyed collecting classic cars and going to car shows; his career was in racing. Lance was an adventurous soul who was well travelled. And, he was known for his sense of humour.
As well as his parents, Lance was also predeceased by two of his brothers, Scott and Barry. He leaves behind Debra after being together over 47 years; he also leaves his children Richard (Jenn), Robert, Candice (Jeff); his grandchildren Laura, MacKenzie, Alexis, Jason, Tyson, Levi, and Killian; his surviving brothers and sisters: Sharon Hamilton Marsh, Penny Abel, Terry, Jim (Delena), Gordon (Marianne), and Susan Welch; his sisters-in-law Linda and Margaret Johnston; Denise (Clark) Sazwan, Daryl (Sherry) Schuster, and Step Mother-in-law: Mary Schuster; and his adopted son-in-law Todd.
A Funeral Service will be held on MONDAY, JULY 26, 2021, AT 2:00 PM PDT, at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC. If you are unable to attend in person, please join the family online by Livestream, a recording will be made available to view shortly thereafter.
A Celebration of Life will follow in Calgary, on August 3, 2021, at 1:00 PM, at the Inglewood Community Hall, 1740 – 24th Avenue SE, Calgary, AB

Deepest sympathies for a great man.
Lance was a funny and caring man. In my youth he was a neighobur and father of my childhood friends. I have nothing but fond memories.
