John Wilbur “Jack” Porter
1938-2021
John Wilbur “Jack” Porter
– age 82, of Port Williams, passed away on June 14, 2021 in
the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born on December 8, 1938 in
Jaw Bone Corner, Kings County, he was a son of the late Verge and
Laura (Frail) Porter and was the last surviving member of his
immediate family.
Jack was a
loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He had been
employed by ACA, holding many different positions, retiring as a truck
driver.
Jack is
survived by a son, Philip (Cheryl), Port Williams; daughter, Ann
Clarke, Alberta; grandchildren, Jennifer Clarke, Amanda
“Mandie” Clarke (Justin Cogswell), Devin Clarke and
August Clarke; two great-grandchildren, Alice and Oakley, several
nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Marjorie (Keddy)
Porter; brothers, Eric, Forrest and Robert
“Bob”.
A graveside
service will be held at 2 pm on Friday, June 18, 2021 in the St.
John’s Anglican Cemetery, Church Street, Port Williams.
Reverend Maya Bevan officiating. COVID-19 health regulations and
physical distancing will be followed; masks are recommended and please
bring your own chair. An on-line webcast of the graveside service will
be available on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at 2
pm.
Donations in
memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Port Williams
Volunteer Fire Department, or the St. John’s Anglican
Church. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family
Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville. For on-line
