In loving memory of John Toporowski 94 years. Passed away peacefully at St. Gabriel’s Villa on Saturday, June 19th, 2021.
Beloved husband of 52 years Muriel (nee Bertrand) predeceased in 2003. Loving father of Dennis (Arlene), Darlene Bryan predeceased (Danny), and Gary predeceased (Patti). Cherished grandfather of Jon (Shawn), Jennifer, Sara (Kyle), Jason, and Joanne and great grandfather of Remi. Predeceased by his parents Michal and Hafa Toporowski (nee Zaichkowski) and siblings.
John was born in Krydor, Saskatchewan on January 8th, 1927. He moved to Ontario and met his wife Muriel and they married on November 5th, 1951. He worked at INCO for 30 years retiring in 1985. He enjoyed camping and fishing, and spent many happy summers at his camp on Vermillion. He was a long-time member of the Elk’s Lodge.
The family would like to express a very heartfelt thank you to the staff, nurses, PWS’s and doctors at St. Gabriel’s Villa in Chelmsford especially Terri-Lynn of for their excellent care and compassion.
At John’s request there will be no visitation or service. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium with burial alongside his wife in the Waters Cemetery on Saturday, June 26th, 2021 at 1pm. Donations to the Northern Cancer Foundation Cancer Center. Arrangements entrusted to the Lougheed Funeral Home. For donations or messages of condolence www.lougheedfuneralhomes.com.
