John “Jack”‘s Obituary
STEWART, John “Jack” Wayne – Age 72, Clam Point, entered into the loving arms of his Saviour, Friday, August 27, 2021, ending his battle with cancer. He was one of eight children of the late Eldridge and Althine Stewart. Jack loved his Lord and attended the New Testament Baptist Church, The Hawk, regularly until the Covid restrictions and his health declined. He was a fisherman and spent many years scalloping, lobstering, trawling, as well as fishing for tuna. He was a great handyman who was always willing to help anyone with any task be it plumbing, carpentry, or anything else. Before health issues became too great, he would have a full hothouse and garden each year and preparing preserves and sharing with all the friends and family. Jack is now reunited in Heaven with the love of his life, Judy. He is survived by son, Andy (Alma); daughter, Sherry (Wayne) Cameron; granddaughters, Brooke (Shane), Bailey (Sam); great-grandsons, Westyn Cameron and Jack Dulong; and sister, Debbie (Wayne) O’Connell. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Eldridge, Barry, David; sisters, Margaret (Donald) Tew, Gloria (Leroy) Isaacson, Sandra (Dewey) Waybret; great-grandson, Jude Boudreau. Jack loved his family dearly. He always loved to see them come through the door. Jack had just finished radiation a couple of weeks ago. After talking with his oncologist, with a brighter hope of upcoming treatments to help achieve his goal of surviving until the next great-grandson arrives in December. Sadly that was not to be, however we know he will be with us in our hearts forever. The family would like to thank all the nurses and doctors at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital, QEII oncology department, Dr. Gillis and Tracey, and all the V.O.N staff for all of their care. There will be a visitation held, Tuesday, August 31, from 6-8 p.m. at the H. M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Barrington. The funeral service will take place on Wednesday, September 1, at 2 p.m. at the New Testament Baptist Church, The Hawk, with Gary Cunningham officiating. Covid restrictions are still in effect and priority seating will be given to the immediate family. There will be a recording of this service for those unable to attend. Interment to follow in the Old Kirk Cemetery, North East Point. Memorial donations may be made to the Rosalin Nickerson Care Fund, New Testament Baptist Church, or a charity of your choice.
