John Grant Dillon
September 10, 1931 – November 20, 2021
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing on Saturday November 20, 2021 of our loving father Jack (John) at the age of 90. Beloved husband of the late Maureen (Reen). Loving father of Dianne (Mark), Dave (Debbie) and Brian (Christine). He was predeceased by his son Gerard. Caring Papa of Ryan (Melissa), Adam (Rebecca), Tara (Chad), Darcy (Drew), Breanne (Alex), Keara (Angus), Teagan and Brayden. Proud Great Papa to Ethan, Mackenzie, Mikaela, Emelia and Grace.
Dear brother of Theresa (the late Buddy), Eileen (the late Bernard), Detta (the late Paul), and Leo (Marie). Predeceased by Agnes (the late Jack), Mary (the late Henry), James (the late Louise), Dan and Stanley. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Jack volunteered a lot of his time and was a lifetime honourary member of the Knights of Columbus Council 5333. He had a long successful career as a sales rep for Labatt Breweries and spent his leisure time golfing and enjoying a warm pint and a laugh with many friends and family. Always the life of the party, the first one up to dance a jig and sing an Irish tune. He will be remembered for his devotion to God and to his family, especially his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Friends and family may visit at the Kemptville Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 805 Prescott Street, Kemptville on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm. In keeping with current COVID protocols guests must be double vaccinated, proof of vaccination will be required for entry and masks are mandatory. Space is limited and guests must register in advance using the link provided below. A Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, 503 Clothier Street West, Kemptville on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at 11am and guests must register in advance using the link below this notice.
Our family would like to thank the staff at the Kemptville District Hospital for their kindness and compassion during Jack’s final days, it meant a lot knowing he was so well cared for.
In memory of Jack, memorial contributions to the Ottawa Heart Institute would be greatly appreciated.
