It is with deep sorrow that we announce John’s passing. He was the devoted husband to his beloved wife Joyce for over 59 years. The loving father of Tom (Christine), Robert (Pascale), Janet (Scott), James (Lynn), Anne (Felix) and Margaret (Ivan). A devoted grandfather to Kelly (Jeff), Rebecca (Jordan), John (Brooke), Calvin (Amanda), Tyler, Kaitlyn, Sarah, Peter, Katie, Lya, Vianne and Christina. Great-grandfather to Claire, Declan, Jack and Liam. Loving brother of Katherine Smith (Calvin). He was predeceased by his wife Joyce, sons Patrick and Peter, sister-in-law Betty Robson and daughter-in-law Pascale.
John was a proper gentleman. Always honest and empathetic to the core. He was an active member of his parish and community treating all he encountered with grace and compassion. John’s career in finance spanned over 45 years. He retired at the age of 71 from BMO Nesbitt Burns as a Portfolio manager. He enjoyed helping others and took pride in giving sound conservative advice to his many clients. John touched the hearts of everyone he met through his kind and giving spirit, unconditional love, his strong faith, and his passion for life. His memory will live on through his beloved family and friends.
