Joan Diane Dressler
Peacefully on Thursday, June 3, 2021. Born in Montreal, the daughter of the late Moses “Moe” Aronoff and the late Grace Rosenberg. She spent summers on the Rudy-Rosenberg family farm in New Glasgow, Quebec, one of the “big kids” in a band of a dozen cousins that stuck together for life. The center of Joan’s adult life was her late husband, Cary Dressler. They traveled the world together and his passing left a hole in her heart. Theirs was a love that knew no bounds. Joan was devoted to her stepsons, David Dressler, and the late Kenneth Dressler, and their families. She cherished her nieces and nephew, Katy, Peter, and Ruth Aronoff. The photos and videos of Peter’s children, Leo and Selene, were among the highlights of her later days.
Joan was honest, straightforward, generous, and loving, all to a fault. For years, she fought a tough battle against COPD and she never let it stop her, to the very end. Joan spent the last thirty years in Hudson, surrounded by friends. Among them, Rose Grinham was a special source of strength. Joan is survived by her brother, Mark Aronoff, his wife Donna Di Donato, and her nieces and nephews. She will be dearly missed by the band of farm cousins, the Aronoff cousins, and all their families.
Private graveside service will take place. Shiva strictly private. Contributions in Joan’s memory may be made to Palliative Care Residence Vaudreuil-Soulanges (mspvs.org) 450-202-2202, ext. 127.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Joan Diane Dressler 2021..
