Joan Cooper July 19th 2021

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Joan P Cooper announce her sudden passing on July 19, 2021, at the age of 71 at the Central NL Regional Health Center, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL.
Joan was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Marion Martin. Her first husband, Reginald Harris and second husband, Hubert Cooper. Sons: Reggie and Allan; Brother: Lewis.
Left to mourn with fond and loving memories: Sons, Rodney and David (Marife); daughter, Grace (Larry); Grandchildren, Owen, Shandi (Ryan), Justin (Regan), Brandon and Rodney Jr.; Great grandchildren, Isaiah and Aliah. Sisters: Margaret and Sheila; Brothers: Boyd, Anderson, Albert, Roy and Joey and a large circle of family and friends.
Joan was born in Elliston on January 14, 1950. She lived most of her life in Bonavista but in later years commuted back and forth between home and Fort McMurray, AB where she would stay with her son, David and grandson, Owen for several years. In September 2020, she decided to stay at home and lived with her daughter, Grace in Corner Brook knowing that Marife was there along with David to take care of Owen.
Joan loved a bit of fun, with good laughter any time. Her “sayings” would make anyone smile and lighten your day. She loved to cook and share it with whomever showed up. She enjoyed the game of hockey and displayed her team of choice by wearing the blue, red and white Montreal Canadiens jersey. In recent years she discovered the world of Facebook. She put it to good use right away as she would share uplifting quotes every single morning to inspire good well. Every morning she would post a good morning to all and each evening you could find out what was on the supper menu. Joan’s pastime for years was being a team captain and friend to singer, songwriter, Gary and Hermie Ragan in Atlanta Georgia. Her online prayer Hubble, and faithful engagement in First Pentecostal Church, Corner Brook’s online services all solidified her faith in Jesus Christ, who was the Lord of her Life.
