Jason George Scott 19702021

Jason George Scott
1970-2021
Born July 11th, 1971, in Oromocto, New
Brunswick passed away June 25th,
2021.
Jason was a kind and caring man who loved his family dearly,
including his wife Carmen and his son Colton. He had a small circle of
very good friends who he loved very much, including a very special
bond with his lifelong best friend Troy. Together they made many
memories which Jason treasured so much. He loved snowmobiling, ATV
runs, canoe trips, fishing, and camping. More recently with his son,
they developed a great love of boating & bass fishing. Jason
made the very most out of every day and cherished every moment with
his family and friends, especially through his battle with
cancer.
Jason was a co-owner of Scott’s Nursery. After
attending Nova Scotia Agricultural College, he worked with his family
to form a well-known greenhouse and garden center operation. Jason
joined three generations of his Scott family in making the business a
success and not without trials and setbacks. The stress he was under
as a planner, grower, and operator of a greenhouse operation in New
Brunswick was seen only by close friends and family, but it was
rewarding to him as he loved being a grower. People he worked with
respected his love for plants and his kind way of directing people.
His plant knowledge, his ability to grow the excellent quality plants
with so many questions and decisions on his mind made it a challenging
life. He wanted to learn the latest technology to move the business
forward. His goal was to make a good life for his family and to be
become the best greenhouse grower in Canada. With the wide variety of
quality plant material Scott’s Nursery offered, in our eyes
he accomplished what he set out to do and to us he was just that,
“The Best”.
Jason worked hard and played hard. He enjoyed time at the
camp with his parents (Jeanette and George). Colton and Carmen spent
some great times together with him camping and fishing. Just last
summer they had a bear by the tent, that ate all their groceries for
the weekend. Afterward Jason found a T-Shirt that said, “What
doesn’t kill you makes you stronger – except for bears,
bears will kill you”. Jason loved to laugh with his friends and
family, he loved campfires, guitar sing-alongs, he loved life, good
friends, staff, and family.
His wife Carmen would tell you Jason was the most amazing
person she ever met, caring, loving, and devoted to his family. His
son Colton would tell you he was the best father anyone could ask for;
they were very close, and they loved being outdoors together. Jason
taught him so many life skills, he knows he was loved and that he was
his dad’s whole world. His sister Jenny was his business
partner and best friend at times, looked after him as a little brother
and always went to him for advice even if they disagreed on things
sometimes, but was always in Jason’s corner in good times
and bad. His mother Jeanette says he could solve anything, fix
anything, was a great cook and in the last year he became very
creative and did some amazing paintings and carvings. His father
George would tell you he was a great fisherman who loved the outdoors,
they spent many hours together hunting and fishing and they both loved
nature very much. His parents would both tell you he was an
“Amazing Son”, and he was always there for
them.
His family and friends are heartbroken with his passing. His
list of things he planned to do and accomplish were always on his mind
to the very end. “The best greenhouse grower” had made
friends with so many people in the industry and community he will not
be forgotten.
The family would like to thank his many doctors, the DECH
oncology department, DECH nurses and staff. The family would like to
thank family and friends for their support through Jason’s
illness. There will be no visitation or service.

  1. Though I never met Jason, what I just read said volumes about him … as a man, son, spouse, father and brother. My heart goes out to the entire family and his may close friends. He will always be with you.
    Bless you all.
