Obituary
We regret to announce the passing of Jason Russell on December 8, 2021 at Winnipeg Mb. Jason passed away at the age of 40 years old.
He leaves behind his daughter and light of his life Kamila Russell-Kramer and her mother Kindra Kramer. Also his mother Beverley (Gary) Russell, cousins Shannon Russell, Amanda (Trevor) Hamm, Rebecca (Ryan) Russell and Lisa (Myk) Shane as well as uncles Dale (Beverley) Russell, Bob (Jane) Russell and aunt Dawn (Tom) Bigford, aunt Linda (Neil) Horkey, cousins Jett Horkey, John Horkey, Mars Horkey and Nigel Horkey. aunt Bonnie (Daryl) Salter, cousins Camille Salter, Thomas Salter, Dawn Janisky daughter of his late Uncle Joe, along with extended family cousins Jennifer Young, Darla (DaVon) Baerg, and Mike Flewelling as well many nieces, nephews relatives and close friends too numerous to mention here.
Those of us who knew Jason will remember him as an intelligent, talented, loving individual with a big heart for those less fortunate in life. Jason spent many years of his young life involved in music and using that medium to both entertain and pass on positive messages to young people who had lost hope in life. He was also a hard worker and laid underground pipe, did siding on high scaffolding, roofing and many other physical jobs. He was not afraid of hard work. Jason was a very accomplished Hip Hop artist with many releases to his credit as well being a very good drummer. His music has been heard around the world and he will be missed by his many fans and artists he collaborated with.
He was so very close to his Dad who unfortunately passed away earlier this year. That was extremely hard on Jason as they spent much of their time together in music and fishing, up at our place in Pine River, their favourite place in the world on float tubes or walking the rivers for trout. Jason was a determined and very funny young man with a great sense of humour.
A funeral service by invitation of family and close friends will be held at this time. A celebration of life for Jason, his dad Kim and his grandmother Irene who also passed away just a few days before Jason will be announced by Bob Russell in the spring of 2022.
