James Patrick Earles
November 15, 1946 – June 11, 2021
In the early hours of June 11, 2021, the world said goodbye to an extraordinary husband, father, grandfather, sibling, uncle and friend. Over the course of his 74 years, James Earles left an indelible mark on the lives of those lucky enough to know him.
A printer by trade, Jim worked tirelessly to provide a beautiful, loving home for his wife of almost 50 years, Katherine, and their daughters, Melissa and Stephanie. He welcomed their spouses, Eddy and Jason, with love and wisdom which he readily shared. His family was completed with the addition of his three grandsons: Jacob, Nicholas and Daniel-Pop’s pride and joy.
He was greeted on the other side by his parents Edward (1981) and Helen (2003), brother Edward “Bud” (2017), sister-in-law Geraldine (2013), nephew Wayne King Jr. (1990) and other relatives and friends gone before.
Remembering their brother, “Mick” with love and fond memories are his siblings and their spouses: Bill (Shirley), Margaret (Milton), Ethel (Bert), Sharon (Roland), Tony (Debbie), Geraldine, Josephine (Tom), John, Dave (Bernadette), Barb, Frank (Theresa). Also sharing in their grief: sister-in-law Eileen Lucas, Ann King (Wayne), Claudette Healey (Joe, deceased) and cherished nieces and nephews too numerous to list.
Sincerest thanks to the staff of Pleasant View Towers, 3-South East, whose care and compassion are unmatched. To his sister Barb, brother Dave, niece Tina, niece Suzette and husband Bob Lee, we are forever grateful.
Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road on Sunday, June 13, 2021 from 1 p.m. – 9 p.m. Funeral Service will take place on Monday, June 14, 2021 at 1 p.m. from Caul’s Chapel. Those wishing to attend the funeral must register with the family before the funeral, for anyone not able to attend, the Funeral will be live-streamed at vimeo.com/561864682
Cremation to follow. Flowers gratefully accepted, or donations may be made to the Parkinson’s Society of Newfoundland and Labrador or the Diabetes Association of Canada, NL Division.
Jim was often heard saying to his daughters during a “teachable moment”, “I just have one question: was it worth it?”
Yes Dad, it was.
