Peacefully at his home, surrounded by family, on Saturday September 11, 2021. Jim McCarthy, beloved husband of Dorothy (nee McFarlane), in his 72nd year. Loving father and grandfather of Lynn McCarthy & Troy Guarascia (Ava, Chloe & Isla), Kevin & Kelli McCarthy (Kaylie & Kenzie) and John & Diana McCarthy (Liam & twins on the way). Brother of Joanne (and the late Kenneth) Rice, John & Darlene, Paul & Norma and Bill McCarthy. Friends are invited to call at COOPER FUNERAL HOME, 19 Talbot Street West, Jarvis on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. (Masks are required at all times while on the funeral home property. No RSVP is required, but please be patient as we all do our part to stay safe). A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, September 18 at St. Ann’s Church followed by burial of cremated remains in St. Ann’s Cemetery. An informal outdoor gathering will be held in remembrance of and tribute to Jim at the family home at 676 Concession 6 Woodhouse, Simcoe on Saturday, September 18 from 1-3 pm. (Physical distancing is required and when not possible, masks are to be worn). If desired, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. Friends are invited to send condolences and sign the Book of Memories at www.cooperfuneralhome.ca
