It is with great sadness that the family of the late James “Junior” Lucas announce his passing at the Bay St. George Long Term Care Center in Stephenville Crossing on Saturday September 4th 2021 at the age of 77 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his son Jamie , step sons: Allan, Shawn and Julian, grandson Devon and great grandson Jaden. Also leaving to mourn his brothers Francis (Margie) Lucas, Billy (Lillian) Lucas, sisters Greta Tobin, Dale (Junie) Keating, Trudy Lucas along with his niece Lisa Lucas (Ricky) who took care of him so well in the past several years. He was predeceased by his parents James and Annie Lucas, his brother Conrad Lucas, sisters Geraldine Webb, Delores LeRoux, Ruth Wheelden, Olivera Lucas, Norma Young and Pauline Lucas. Junior will be remembered for his love of cooking, moose hunting, playing cards , listening to Newfoundland music and his greatest love was his “Smoke and a cup of tea”. Funeral services will take place from Russell’s Funeral Home Chapel in Stephenville on Saturday September 18th at 1 P.M. with interment to follow at the Roman Catholic Cemetery in Stephenville Crossing.

But God willed it not to be
Now you are in God’s keeping
You suffer no more pain
So dear God, take care of him
Until we meet again.
