William John (Jack) Hayward
March 18, 1933 – April 22, 2021
It is with saddened hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Father, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather at the age of eighty-eight.
Predeceased by his wife, Myrtle; children, Glenys and Kevin John; parents, Chesley and Isabella; Brothers, Freddie, Wilson and Robert, and Sister, Lilian.
Leaving to mourn with cherished memories, Children: Jacquie (Sam), Gail, Joni (Tony), Carolyn (Wade), and Glenn (Pamela). Grandchildren; Mandy (Andy), Debbie (Brian), Stephen (Jessica), Kevin (Shannon), Stephani, Ryan, Leah, Michael and Joshua. Great-Grandchildren; Maelie, Lucy, Beth, Jaxon, and Kylie; sister Lucy; brother Raymond (Barbara); and extended family and friends.
From the time he was a child, growing up in Baileys Cove and Red Cove, Jack was a free spirit. He worked for many years at the LORAN station at Cape Bonavista but he was happiest “on the water” and fished till he was eighty years old. He loved music and entertained us all with his guitar playing and the many songs we loved to hear him play. He loved to keep busy and was always whistling a tune while he worked. He said many times that he had lived a wonderful life and had no regrets.
He has certainly left a loving and remarkable legacy.
The Hayward family would like to give special thanks to George and Dianne Abbott for the kindness and friendship shown to our father.
