It is with heavy hearts and sadness that the family of Ivan Nichols Sr announces his passing at WMRH on July 25 at the age of 74.
Leaving to mourn are son Ivan Roy Nichols and daughter Stacy Dawe (Curtis) and 3 grandchildren, Ivan Ryan Nichols, Callum and Sadie Dawe; sisters Irene Thomas (Garland), and Sharon Goobie (Randy); brothers Calvin (Edna), Terry (Georgina), Melvin (Grace), Wayne (Madonna), many nieces, nephews, cousins and a large circle of friends.
Ivan was predeceased by beloved wife Joan Josephine Nichols (nee Delaney), parents George Roy Nichols and Reta Guinchard and siblings Nellie Smith (Moses), Alice Kelly (Jim), and Bruce (Alma) Nichols.
Ivan will be lovingly remembered to his family and friends as an avid farmer who loved hunting and the great outdoors. In between these pursuits, he spent 30 years with Newfoundland Telephone.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, July 27,2021 from the hours of 2-4 and 7-9pm.
Service will be held at Salvation Army Church in Deer Lake on Wednesday at 2:00pm with Judy and Ed Sheppard officiating with internment to follow at the Salvation Army cemetery on Wight’s Rd.
