September 19, 1931 – April 7, 2021
Harry Keith Callander passed away peacefully at Hospice Simcoe in Barrie on April 7th, 2021. In his 90th year, Keith was predeceased by his wife, Ivy (nee Morrow- 2010). Son of the late Jack and Angela (Kerr) of Guelph. Predeceased by brother Ross and survived by brother Jack Jr. of Chatham. Father to Dan Callander (Kathy) of Durham, Valerie Smith (late John) of Barrie and the late Flora Ferrier (late Harold) of Barrie. Survived by grandchildren Holly, Mark, Brian, Laurie, Jennifer, Brenda, Todd and numerous great grand children.
Proud retired member of the Canadian Military and member of the Army Navy Air Force Club in Barrie. Served overseas in Cyprus and Germany. Retired correctional officer having served at the Barrie Jail.
Thank you to the staff at Hospice Simcoe and especially Simcoe Terrace in Barrie for their care and companionship while he resided with them. Thank you also to the staff on palliative care at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre for the attention to his needs.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie. A private family service will take place at a later date. Memorial donations to Hospice Simcoe would be appreciated. Online condolences and memories may be left at www.steckleygooderham.com
