Harry Everett Hutchison 2021

Harry Everett Hutchison November 14th, 1941 – June 11th 2021
Miramichi- With heavy hearts, the family of Harry Everett Hutchison announces his passing on Friday, June 11th 2021 at the Miramichi Regional Hospital with his loving family by his side.
Harry was born in Douglastown, New Brunswick, the son of the late Alexander “Sandy” Hutchison and Marion “Molly” (Wood) Hutchison.
He graduated from Harkins Academy in 1959. Upon graduation, he went on to work for the Fraser Pulp and Paper Company as a utility labourer and worked at various positions in the production area until his retirement from Repap NB, in June of 2000 after 41 years of dedicated service.
In 1966, he married Ruby (Bohan) of Barnaby River and they had two children, making their family home in Douglastown.
An avid outdoor enthusiast, Harry sought much enjoyment from the simple things in nature. He could often be seen working in his garden, hunting at his camp, fishing and trapping with his loyal canine companions – Chopper and Riley. His camp buddies can attest to his knack for giving a moose call in hunting season. Harry took great pride in his property by planting numerous trees and plants; it became his haven, where he met his friends often with a cup of tea while they shared many laughs on his deck.
Harry had a deep love for his family, who devoted his time to being a loving father and grandfather. He made many batches of fudge for Halloween, attended many ball games, hockey games, tied skates, and gave plenty of drives on his wheelbarrow.
Besides his loving wife Ruby of 54 years, he is survived by his sons: Derek (Krista) Miramichi, Peter (Leanne) Eastern Passage, NS, Grandchildren: Molly, Charles, Drew, Grace.
He is also survived by his brothers: John, Robert (Fearn); several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins, and many cherished friends. In addition, he leaves behind three special childhood cousins/friends: Jon Hutchison-Thompson, Fredericton NB, Mary Jean Hutchison-Ross, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, and Ann Hutchison Shaffer, Moncton, NB
Harry is predeceased by one brother: Charles and two sisters in law, Gennie Hutchison and Leah Hutchison.
Despite the inevitable void created by his passing, his family will forever be imprinted for having known his gentle manner. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness and the memory of his infectious smile.
The family is grateful to the nursing staff and physicians at the Miramichi Regional Hospital for the compassionate care that they showed Harry during his illness, as well as his Personal Support Worker, Bilal Haider, with whom he shared a close friendship.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, there will be no visitation or funeral service at this time. Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date.
In Harry’s memory, donations may be made to the Miramichi SPCA and the Miramichi Food Bank. Messages of condolence for the family can be sent through the funeral home website at www.bellsmeadows.com
