Obituary of Harold Bertram Jardine
JARDINE, Harold Bertram (Bert) – Peacefully at Vision Nursing Home, Bert died on Thursday, June 3, 2021 at the age of 97. Beloved husband of the late Wanda (1994). Loving father of Richard Jardine (Gail), Robert Jardine and Mary Elizabeth Porter (Jack). Cherished grandfather of Jessica Schab (Kaldon), Christina Jardine, Terra McLellan (Blaine) and Brandi Victor (Steve). Great-grandfather of 6. Also survived by his special friend Elizabeth Griffon and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Harold & Martha Jardine and siblings; Mildred Jardine, Helen Heit, Kathleen Spalding, John Jardine, Fred Jardine, Norman Jardine, Isabella Silver and Lillian Fyfe. Bert was a veteran of W.W. II serving with the R.C.E.M.E. of the First Hussars of the 1st Canadian Division. After W.W. II, he joined the O.P.P., serving in Hespeler and then Petrolia. He then moved to the Sarnia Township Police and his final post was with the Point Edward police department where he attained the rank of Chief of Police. Cremation has taken place. Due to current COVID 19 restrictions a private family interment will be held at Resurrection Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to The McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, (519-344-3131).
