It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Albert Grogan “Grog” Ricketts announces his passing. Grogan passed peacefully away at the Baie Verte Peninsula Health Centre, Baie Verte, NL on Tuesday, March 2nd, 2021 at the age of 84 years.
Grogan is predeceased by parents – Alfred & Selina Ricketts; son – Barry Ricketts; granddaughter – Kira Ricketts; parents-in-law – Obadiah & Clara Davis; siblings – Alexander Ricketts, Leslie Ricketts (Dorothy), Thomas Ricketts (Amaunda), Annie Hewitt (Stanley), Dulcie Hewitt (Samuel) and siblings-in-law – Arthur Rice and Alice Davis.
Left to cherish many wonderful memories is his wife of 58 years – Susie Ricketts, Westport, NL; son – Cluney Ricketts (Naomi), Robert Ricketts (Rose), Dale Ricketts (Betty), all of Westport, NL, Jerome Ricketts (Gina), Brandon, Manitoba and Colin Ricketts (Lisa), Barrie, Ontario; daughter-in-law – Ada Ricketts, Westport, NL; a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren; siblings – Edmund Ricketts, Abraham Ricketts (Stella), Sophie Squires, Lillian Decker (Jack), Louise Osmond (Jim); siblings-in-law – Effie Rice, Willis Davis, Melvin Davis (Shirley), Clayton Davis (Ruby) and Lorna Ricketts; special niece/sister – Donna Speed; homecare workers, as well as a large circle nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Due to the COVID-19 Global Pandemic, the Public Health Advisory and associated restrictions, we regret to announce that there will be no Public Visitation or Public Funeral Service. Reverend George Critchell conducted a Private Family Graveside Service at St. Peter’s Anglican Cemetery, Westport, NL.
As an expression of sympathy, flowers are gratefully accepted or donations may be made in Grogan’s memory to St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Westport, NL.
