GOWANS, Catherine “Kay” Anderson
February 1929 – November 2021
With aching yet gentle hearts we announce the passing of CATHERINE “Kay” ANDERSON GOWANS at Bethany Cochrane, Alberta, on November 24th. She was 92 years old.
Kay was predeceased by partner Robert Desjarlais, her devoted sister Margaret, brother Leonard, and parents. She is survived by children Susan (Stephen), Andrew, and Julie (Franck); grandchildren Jennifer (Ryan), Branden (Vince), Aileen (Bogden) and Angelica; great grandchildren Casen and Emery; nephews Leonard and Michael. She is also survived by ex-husband and life-long friend, Alan Gowans. Kay, known as “Rena” when young, was always gentle and fun-loving … young or old, rich or poor, age-old friend or briefest of acquaintance, everyone she turned her attention to will remember her sense of humour and beautiful smile.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Bethany Cochrane, especially for their tender care the last days and hours of life. In keeping with the Covid times and Kay’s wishes, the celebration of life will be private. Those wishing to honour Kay may make a donation in her name to THE MUSTARD SEED www.theseed.ca/
