Obituary
Glenn Eugene Lupyrypa
It is with great sadness that his family announces his peaceful passing on September 8th, 2021.
Glenn was predeceased by his son Brent, and his parents Matilda and Eugene, and brother in law Dennis Larabie.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Annelise; his boys Kevin and Justin; his sisters Sharon Skoropata and Debby (Bruce) Graham; brothers Bert (Lori), Allen (Perry), and Raymond (Tracy); mother-in-law Vicky Larabie; sister-in-law Darlene Herron and many nieces and nephews and friends.
Glenn was born and raised in Gimli. In 1980, he married his sweetheart Annelise and they moved to Winnipeg Beach where together they raised their family. From a young age he loved dirt bikes, motorcycles and snowmobiles and he could fix or repair them to keep them going. His favorite was Yamaha’s. When his boys came along, they too embraced his passion and learned these skills from their dad. You could always find them all in the shop working on all kinds of machines. His sons were especially interested in vintage Yamaha snow machines. Between Glenn and his boys, they have quite the collection! Glenn was a welder by trade and combined with being mechanically inclined, he could fix anything. In 1998, he opened and operated his welding and repair shop with the boys till 2011. He was especially interested in using his trade and skills to help his sons. Glenn refurbished a Bombadier which Kevin used for his commercial fishing business and Glenn was proud when Justin took up welding, having learned the skill from his dad.
Glenn suffered a series of strokes in 2011 and his health declined as the years went on. He still was in his shop with the boys watching them fixing up their old machines. In July of 2021, he was diagnosed with cancer and his health declined rapidly, he was in hospital and passed away in his sleep peacefully. He will be missed.
In keeping with his wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no formal service. His ashes and his son Brent’s ashes will be interred together in the Winnipeg Beach Cemetery at a later date.
