Obituary for Glenn Joseph Patterson
It is with deep sadness the Patterson family announces the passing of Glenn at 93 years of age on July 21, 2021. Loving husband of the late Ann for 64 years. He will be missed by his children Peter (Rhonda), Marsha (David) and Jane (Ian). Grandfather to the late Alison, the late Blaine, Janna (Dan), Cara (Jacob), Jonathan (Grace), Robert (Nicole), Mark (Kim) and Emma (George). Great-grandfather to Hugo, Ewan and Lora. Much loved brother of Jackie (the late Charles), the late Elaine (Frankie) and the late Garth (Glenda).
Glenn led a long, healthy and fulfilling life. He was born in Gaspe, QC in 1928 where,at various times he worked in a bank, co-owned a poultry farm with his father, owned a logging company, owned a garage and worked as a miner. After moving his family to Ontario in 1964 he worked briefly as a real estate agent before becoming an ironworker. Glenn retired at the age of 58 to pursue his many interests including fishing, golfing, photography, gardening, wood carving, painting, and fly tying. Glenn and Ann travelled extensively across Canada and spent many winters at their home in Florida where they enjoyed an active social life with their new friends.
