Gerald Johnson
1936-2021
SAINT-LOUIS-DE-KENT, NB – Gerald Johnson, 84, of
St. Louis, passed away suddenly at the Stella Maris de Kent Hospital,
Ste. Anne on Thursday, April 29, 2021. Born in St Louis, he was the
son of the late Marcel and Rosaline (Martin) Johnson. Before retiring,
Gerald worked as a carpenter. He was a well loved man, a Third Degree
Knight with the Knights of Columbus, did plenty of volunteer work for
his parish and enjoyed playing cards, especially crib.
Gerald leaves to mourn his two daughters, Jackie Johnson
(Denis Savoie) of Moncton and Gloria Lindsay (Charles) of Estevan, SK;
his son, Allan (Lucille) of St. Louis; three grandchildren,
Jacqueline, Laura and Bradley and one great granddaughter, Sienna. He
also leaves to mourn his special friend of 21 years, Doris Vienneau;
her children, Gilles Vienneau (Nathalie) and Lise
L’Espérance (Robert), both of Quebec; as well as
Doris’ three grandchildren and three great
grandchildren.
Gerald will also be sadly missed by his four sisters, Aldine
Johnson of St. Ignace, Bernice Hebert (late Antoine) of St. Louis,
Yvonnice Gallant (Donat) of St. Louis and Florine Caissie (Andre) of
Rogersville; three brothers, Aldoria (Emilie), Onile (Juliette) and
Thaddee (Shirley), all of St. Louis; his brother-in-law, Zoel Richard
(late Lorenza) of St. Louis; as well as by his many nieces and
nephews.
Besides his parents, Gerald was predeceased by his wife,
Armoza (Brideau); one grandson, David; five brothers, Valerie,
Rosimond, Esmond, Aquila and Yvon; and one sister,
Lorenza.
Visitation will be held at Thompson’s Memorial
Home, St. Louis on Tuesday from 7-9pm and Wednesday from 9am until
departure for the funeral. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on
Wednesday, May 5th, 2021 at 11am,
St-Louis-des-Francais Roman Catholic Church, St. Louis.
Due to COVID-19 regulations, a maximum of 50 people at a time
are allowed in the funeral home. Masks are mandatory and we ask that
social distancing be respected.
