Gerald’s Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Gerald Strickland announce his peaceful passing at the ICU Unit at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook at the age of 76 years. Gerald will be lovingly remembered by his brothers Maxwell, Junior (Rose), Jerome (Marilyn), Robert (Wanda), Lyndon (Lisa). Sister’s Cassie (Sam), Hazel (Raymond), Bernice (Warren). Brother-in-law David Byrne and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Albert and Elizabeth Strickland, Brother Melvin. Sisters Shirley and Doreen. Brother-in-law Bernard Wheeler. The family would like to thank the Doctors and Nurses and all staff at the ICU for the special Kindness and compassion that was given to Gerald and his family at this difficult time in our lives. The family would also like to thank the staff at the aby shore estate home in Irishtown for the care that was given to Gerald for the last 9 years of his life where he resided. Visitation is to take place Wednesday, July 21st, 2021 at 1 Pat Country Haven Funeral Home Chapel from where the funeral service will take place at 2 Pm with Rev. Effie Organ officiating. Interment to follow at St. James Anglican Cemetery Lark Harbour. As expressions of sympathy, there are no flowers by request. Donations can be in Gerald’s memory may be made to St. James Anglican Church in Lark Harbour.
