GEORGES FONTAINE
With deep sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of Georges Douglas Pierre Fontaine, at home with his family on February 16, 2021, after living the last 22 months with an aggressive cancer.
He is survived by his beloved wife and soul mate of over 47 years, Bunny, and their three children and families: Ryan (Karlene) Parker & Paige in Winnipeg, Kathy (Pek) Oscar & Jane in Western Australia, and Rhonda (Rob) Brennan & Brooke in Red Deer.
He leaves to mourn his brother Jean (Karen), sister Nan (Gerry) Bingham, and sister-in-law Annette Fontaine; brothers-in-law Rick (Pat), David (Karen), and Michael (Ali) San Filippo, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and many very dear friends.
Georges was predeceased by his mother Mary (2021), his father Georges (2001), and his brother Rob (2011).
Devoted to his wife and family, life’s challenges were faced with optimism and humour. He was always very proud of his children & grandchildren and their accomplishments. He helped us when needed, no task too big or small, forever positive about everything.
His work career spanned over 40 years in the trades and service industry, where he was very well respected by all.
Special people make special memories and we have a lifetime to sustain us. Even during the past several months, his strength of character, patience, endurance and love for others shone through in the midst of his discomfort. He still made me laugh every day!
And so, Dear Georges, in your memory, we will remember “to laugh all the way to the goal line.” Your time on earth has ended and you are home. You have touched many lives with those gorgeous eyes, your beautiful smile, and sincere kindness, which will never be forgotten.
Until we are together again, we will always remember, “It’s all good.”
A closed family service will be held by E. J. Coutu & Co. Funeral Directors. Interment will take place at a later date when immediate family can be together.
