McKinlay, Gary
We are so sad to announce the passing of Gary Archibald McKinlay (Starchy) – our loving father, husband, and grandpa. He passed after a short stay at St. Paul’s Hospital on June 10, 2021. Gary was born in Edmonton on March 10, 1953 and lived in Prince Albert and Vancouver before settling in Saskatoon. One of his passions was bowling. He worked for many years as the Manager at KG Bowl, and had a special place in his heart for the seniors in the league. His involvement in the community also extended as a competitor and coach. Another passion for over 30 years was singing. Countless nights were spent at Crackers Karaoke, singing and performing on cruise ships, and even the Las Vegas Strip. Family was Gary’s greatest passion. He leaves behind his loving wife Barb, and his children Kelsey (Kyle), Brooke (Ed), Sherri (Craig), Laura, Sandra (Sean) and Steven will miss him greatly – as well his grandchildren; Jane, Ben, Rachel and Eliott. He is survived by his sister Carol and was predeceased by his mother Olive and father Archie; sisters Gale, Selma and brother Doug. In lieu of flowers, charitable donations in memory of Gary can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, or Kidney Foundation. A celebration of Gary’s life will be held on August 12, 2021 at Acadia-Mckague’s Funeral Centre (915 Acadia Drive) in Saskatoon, SK at 2:00PM with livestreaming available at www.faithproductions.ca/livestream .
