Obituary of Gaetano Giuseppe Ventura
VENTURA, Gaetano –With broken hearts we announce the passing of Gaetano Ventura. Peacefully, with his family by his side Gaetano Ventura passed away at Charlotte Englehart Hospital, Petrolia on March 2, 2021 at the age of 89. Beloved husband of 64 years to Lisetta. Loving father of Rosanna Bucci (Pasquale), Maria De Luca (Ralph), Alberta Nicholl (Aubrey) and Frank Ventura (Corrine). Predeceased by daughter Anna Roberts (Tony), and son Michael Ventura (Lise). Cherished Nonno of Maria, Sandra, Michael, Tony, Tina, Sarah, Wesley, Frank, Bryanne, Austin, Tara, Joshua and Larry. Cherished Bis Nonno of Luciana, Sidney, Ava, Dominc, Brantly, Taylor, Hunter, Summer, Sophia and Kinsley. Loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by father Alberto, mother Rosa and step-mother Chelesta. Also predeceased by brother Spedito and sisters Maria and Tonina.
Born in San Pietro in Guarano, Italy and immigrated to Canada in 1961. He was a member of L.I.U.N.A. Local 1089. Gaetano was an avid fisherman, hunter, gardener, baker and wine maker.
The family would like to thank Bluewater Health Complex Continuing Care, Fiddick’s Nursing Home, the Charlotte Englehart Hospital doctors, staff and all the dedicated frontline workers.
Due to current COVID restrictions a private visitation and funeral service will be held at the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 431 N. Christina Street, Sarnia (519-344-3131). Interment at Our Lady of Mercy. Please note that masks/face coverings are mandatory and maximum visitors at one time and social distancing will be strictly enforced.
