“Frank” Scammell – 81, of Truro, passed away on
Sunday, August 1, 2021 in the Wynn Park Villa, Truro. Born in Halifax,
he was a son of the late Francis and Isobel (Austin) Scammell. Frank
had been employed as a cage tender in the nickel mine while living in
Manitoba, later working as a toll plaza operator in Nova Scotia. Frank
is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Valerie (Palmeter); sons,
Harland (Theresa), The Pas, MB and Robert, Truro; sisters, Susan
(Steven) Csontos, Truro and Anne, Bible Hill; brothers, Jim, Bible
Hill, Tom, Truro and David; grandsons, Cody and Zachary. Besides his
parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Willard. Cremation has taken
place and there will be no visitation, by request. A graveside service
will be held on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. in the Elm Grove
Cemetery, Steam Mill. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian
Cancer Society. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White
Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services,
Kentville.
