Evelyn was born and grew up in Winnipeg. She worked at Camco and made many lifelong friends there. She enjoyed bowling, curling, playing crib and spending time at the trailer at Winnipeg Beach.
In 2007, she bought a house in Winnipeg Beach and lived there full time. She was actively involved with the Legion and the seniors there for as long as her health permitted.
