Evelyn’s Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Evelyn Aloysia Osmond (nee Lomond) at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre in Port aux Basques, NL on Saturday, July 31st, 2021 at the age of 80 years. Born in Port aux Basques, NL, Evelyn was the daughter of the late Isaac and Ester Lomond. She was also predeceased by her husband; Arthur Reginald Osmond, brothers John Lewis Lomond, Sydney Lomond, George Lomond, Fred (Ruth) Lomond, Harry (Betty) Lomond, sisters; Melinda (Isaac) Lomond, Edna Matthews, father and mother-in-law; Annie (Charles) Osmond and brothers-in-law; Harry Osmond, Philip Lomond, Albert Seymour.
Evelyn will be missed and forever loved by her loving daughters; Karen (Winston) Sentner of Port aux Basques, NL, Glenda Spencer (Brian Pinnell) and Pamela Osmond, both of Lower Sackville, NS, sons; Randy Osmond and Peter (Cheryl) Osmond both of Port aux Basques, NL, and lastly, Heather (Joey) Bungay of North Sydney, NS, grandchildren; Karen, Amy, Jillian, Jordan, Jenny, Ryan, Andrew, Brooke, and Cameron, and great-grandchildren; Kaniah, Jersey, Shane, Jayde, Madison, and Jacob.
Evelyn will also be sadly missed by her sisters; Rosanna Lomond, Elsie (Reg) Taylor, Gladys Seymour, brothers; Garfield (Sandra) Lomond, Robert (Margaret) Lomond, and Eneas (Linda) Lomond, sisters-in-law; Dorothy Osmond and Joyce (Bill) Martin; brother-in-law, Fred Matthews, plus a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
A special thank you to Dr. Astani and the wonderful nurses of Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook, Dr. Bruff of Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital in Stephenville, Dr. Graham and the wonderful nurses at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre in Port aux Basques. We would also like to thank Rev. Jane Allen for the wonderful care and kindness given to our mother.
Visitation will take place on Monday, August 2nd from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m and 7:00 p.m to 9:00 p.m at East Haven Funeral Home Inc., 57 Grand Bay Road, Port aux Basques. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 3rd, at 11:00 a.m. from St. James Anglican Church, Channel-Port aux Basques officiated by Rev. Jane Allen. Interment to follow at St. James Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill, TCH, NL. Flowers are graciously accepted or donations in Evelyn’s memory can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
