GRILLI, Evelina (nee Ferrelli)
It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother Evelina on Friday June 4, 2021 at the age of 95. Cherished wife of the late Luigi. Loving mother and mother-in-law of Joseph Grilli (Alice), Vera Bifano (Gino), Maria Noce (Frank). Treasured Nonna of Evelina (Yussif), David (Alicia), Louis (Samantha), John (Ally), Anna (Mark), Christina (the late Steve) , Laura (Daniel), Nicola (Cynthia), Alysandra, and Adriana. Proud great-grandmother of Nyla, Ella, Giacomo, Marcello, Roman, Norah, Adele, Anthony, Declan and Piper. Daughter of the late Giuseppe and Ascenza Ferrelli. Loved sister of the late Battista and Concetta Ferrelli, Bianca and the late Vito D’Alessandro, Peter and Mary Ferrelli. Dear sister-in-law of Iole the late Nino Grilli, Elvira and the late Luigi Scampone, the late John and Antoinette Grilli, Enzo and Lillian Grilli, and the late Giuseppe Grilli. Survived by many nieces and nephews.
Evelina and Luigi left their beloved hometown of Pettorano Sul Gizio, immigrating to Hamilton with their family in 1955. She was very grateful for the opportunity Hamilton provided her, her offspring, and their progeny. She was the matriarch of a large loving family, which stands as a testament to all that she accomplished in her many years on earth. Alzheimer may have taken her mind, but not her spirit.

Visitation at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 454 Highway #8 (east of Millen Road) STONEY CREEK (905-664-4222) on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 from 3-9 p.m. Private Funeral Mass will be celebrated, but will be livestreamed for the public on Thursday, June 10, 2021 at 10:00 am at St. Francis Xavier Stoney Creek Youtube channel. Private Entombment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
In accordance with provincial regulations, there is a limit to the number of visitors who may attend the Funeral Home at one time. Please RSVP in advance for the visitation on Evelina’s tribute page at www.smithsfh.com or by calling the Funeral Home.
If desired, memorial contributions to The Alzheimer Society or St. Joseph’s Hamilton Health Care Foundation Palliative Care Unit would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
