Eric George Voltz passed away on Friday, November 19, 2021 at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital in Cranbrook, BC at the age of 91 years. Eric was born In Busum, Germany on January 26, 1930 to Erich and Caroline Voltz. Eric was a painter and decorator for most of his working life.
Eric moved to Canada at the age of 27 and met the love of his life, Olga. They married shortly afterwards. He became an instant father to Olga’s children. He was a wonderful stepfather and eventual loving grandfather to his grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. Eric loved to dance, travel, go fishing and be with his family. He will be greatly missed by all of us.
Eric leaves behind his wife of 57 years, Olga and his stepchildren Rick (Linda) Piovesan and Patricia (David) Clarricoates as well as seven grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Eric was predeceased by his parents; Erich and Caroline Voltz of Germany, Sister Rosemary Voltz of Germany and brothers Gunther Voltz of Lumby, BC and Hubert Voltz of Germany. He is also predeceased by his children Donna (Leo) Bozzer and grandchild Cherie Ballard and Greatgrandchildren Michael Pieters and Lorelei Clarricoates.
There will be no funeral service at this time but please indulge in a shot of Schnapps in Eric’s memory and in lieu of flowers. Condolences may be left for the family at www.markmemorial.com
