The death of Elmer Ward Silliker husband of the late Elizabeth “Betty” (Hambrook) Silliker, of Sunny Corner, NB occurred on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at the Miramichi Regional Hospital at the age of 85. Born in Sillikers, NB, he was the son of the late Ward and Freda (Payne) Silliker. Elmer was retired from Heath Steele Mines was a former caretaker of several fishing lodges and was a hunting and fishing guide. He loved to garden, hunt, fish, read, farm, snowmobile, play cards and do anything that involved the outdoors.
Elmer is survived by: daughters: Judy Harris (Bryce) of Sevogle, NB; Sharon Peters (Terry) of Calgary, AB; son: Buddy Silliker (Maggie Mullin) of Sunny Corner, NB; sisters: Ruth Berry (Jim) and Mary Mason all of Moncton, NB; brother: Steven Silliker (Robin) of New York; grandchildren: Krista Audet, Melissa Harris, Jillian Graham, Amanda Barton, Kiera Peters, Chloe Peters, Buddy Silliker, and Vaden Sheagreen; great grandchildren: Jansen and Annie Audet, Oaklen Graham and Jack Barton and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents and wife, Elmer is predeceased by: sisters: Muriel Wilson (Loyal), Ella Murray (Kenny) and brothers: Huxley and Jerry Silliker (Heather).
The family will receive visitors at Meadows Funeral Home at a time to be announced and a Funeral Service will be held at Meadows Funeral Home Chapel at a time to be announced. Interment will take place in the St. Stephen’s Presbyterian Cemetery, Boom Road, NB.
