Obituary of Edward Christensen
Edward Christian Christensen
January 11, 1947 – February 22, 2021
It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Edward Christian Christensen, late of Prince Albert, SK, on February 22, 2021, at the age of 74. He was predeceased by his beloved parents, Bill and Connie Christensen. Ed is survived by his sons, Shawn (Michelle) and Kyle (Salma) Christensen; grandchildren, Brighton, Larson and Tavin Christensen; sister, Sylvia Price; brothers Ray, Terry and Dennis (Roberta) Christensen; mother of his children, Mary Christensen; many nieces and nephews, extended family, and best friend, Marilyn. Ed was deeply loved and will be missed.
Ed was born in Prince Albert on January 11, 1947 and was the youngest of five children. He lived and worked most of his life in Prince Albert where he was a great help to his parents, especially his mom when her health began to fail. He was a man with a kind heart and gentle ways. Above all things, family was the most important part of his life. He was immensely proud of his sons and their partners. His greatest joy was his grandsons who called him “Grampy Ed.” He cherished every moment he spent with them. He maintained close ties with his siblings, often visiting or helping out with a project. He could always be counted on when help was needed. Ed was a meticulous craftsman and enjoyed home renovation and intricate model building. He applied that same work ethic to his job at SaskPower for many years. He enjoyed downhill skiing, cross-country skiing at the “Red,” travelling to music concerts, cheering for the Riders, and hand-feeding his resident squirrel. And he loved planes, all planes, including the model planes that he built and flew. Ed greatly enjoyed his involvement with the Prince Albert Lions Club.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory would be greatly appreciated: Lions Clubs of Prince Albert, 850 Exhibition Drive, Prince Albert, SK S6V 2J7. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 4th, 2021 at Gray’s Funeral Chapel, 575 – 28 Street West, Prince Albert, SK, with Pastor Dennis Serfas officiating. He will be interred with his mom and dad in South Hill Cemetery, Prince Albert, SK. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, in-person attendance will be by invitation.
